Hey curvy girls all over the world,
British Vogue’s May 2018 issue features a diverse group of trailblazing models on the cover. In an effort to show diverse representation in the fashion world, editor in chief Edward Enninful says, “It is a moment for Vogue to do what it has always done best :to offer a bold vision of what the future can-and should-look like.”
The May 2018 issue features plus size model Paloma Elsesser. Paloma is truly a trailblazer in the fashion industry. She’s been in a number of groundbreaking campaigns ranging from Nike to walking in a Christian Siriano fashion week show. For her to be on the cover of British Vogue is epic and definitely helps to keep the door open for more plus size models to be represented in mainstream magazines like Vogue.
Although we were excited to see Paloma on the cover representing for curvy/plus size women, we also have to recognize the 8 other trailblazers on the cover. Models Halima Aden, Adut Akech, Radhika Nair, Yoon Young Bae, Faretta, Fran Summers, Vittoria Ceretti, and Selena Forrest, have all been making amazing moves in the fashion industry.
