Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Fashion Week Show Was All About Diversity

Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Fashion Week Show featured a diverse group of women.

In my 8 years of attending fashion week, this year has been the most diverse I’ve ever seen. All throughout the week, designers like Christian Siriano, Cushnie, and Chromat have featured women of all shapes, sizes, and races. What makes this fashion week even more special is the way Rihanna ended it. Savage X Fenty, Rihanna’s lingerie line closed out fashion week with an amazing runway show that celebrated a diverse group of women.

Rihanna’s show included models of all shapes and sizes. She had plus size models and even featured pregnant model Slicks Woods. Rihanna gets what it means to have a clothing and beauty brand that is all about providing representation to the under served women who are often overlooked and never get to see versions of themselves from the very brands they buy from.

Dancers Jore Marshall and Amari Marshall who has danced with Janet Jackson and Beyonce were both spotted at the Savage X Fenty New York fashion week show representing for the curvy girls. Size diversity is important.

Seeing women from all different backgrounds, skin tones, sizes, hair types was just glorious and inspiring. This is what we need to see more on the runways. More diversity. You can checkout the Savage X Fenty collection HERE
