I’m always looking for outfit inspiration. I like to scroll Pinterest to get ideas. One of the reasons I do that is to make sure I’m creating looks that make me feel confident and most importantly, look good. “When you look good, you feel good.” That’s one of my favorite quotes from football legend Deon Sanders. It’s something I think about every time I go shopping. Finding clothes that make me look good and feel my best is empowering. Some people may look at fashion as unimportant but I think it is.
If you have a job interview you make sure you wear your best professional outfit. When you go to church you make sure you put on your Sunday’s best. When you meet your boyfriend or girlfriends family for the first time you make sure you wear something that is going to give the best impression of who you are.
Outfit Inspiration: Faux Fur Coats & Sweater Dresses
You wear your best because it injects a level of confidence into your spirit. A few weeks ago I added two new pieces to my wardrobe that truly made me happy when I put them on. One piece was a multi-color faux fur coat and the second was a pink turtleneck sweater dress.
During the colder months sweater dresses are a wardrobe staple. However, most fall/winter plus size sweater dresses come in dark colors. So, when I saw this girly pink style I knew I had to have it. I know you’re wondering what’s so special about this turtleneck dress. For me, its the color.
The color highlights my skin tone and the fit lightly skimmed over my curves. I love how the belt snatched my waist. The cool thing about this turtleneck sweater dress is that its not the wool or polyester knit type. It’s a sweatshirt material.
The second piece I added was this multi-color faux fur coat. Ya’ll I am in love with this coat. It’s even more beautiful in person. The faux fur is soft. It feels luxurious. At first I wasn’t going to wear both of them together. However, I was looking for some outfit inspiration and saw a few looks that featured sweater dresses and faux fur coats.
When I combined the two I was so excited about how well they looked together. The look instantly boosted my confidence level. I stood tall and literally sashayed around the streets while taking pictures in the outfit. You couldn’t tell me anything.
