Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Yesterday, I went to work in this striped jersey shirtdress from Norma Kamali. I bought this dress back in the winter time and like so many things in my closet forgot that it was there. Since the weather was quite chilly and I didn’t feel spring like. I thought this dress would compliment how I was feeling because right now I’m in a black phase as you’ve seen from the last few ootd posts.
By now, you all know that I’m a sucker for stripes and animal prints. I don’t know why I’m always drawn to them, but, I just am. The majority of my striped pieces are all horizontal stripes. I was drawn to this dress because it has vertical stripes and it was black and gray. At first, I hated the dress. It was a little too big at the top and it kind of just hung on me. I was too lazy to return it, so, I stashed it in the closet, which is why I forgot about it.

 For the office, I decided to wear my black cropped jacket with it and a black patent leather buckle belt that I took from another dress. I wanted to spruce it up with a few silver accessories that I got from Ashley Stewart. I found these black and silver link earrings and large silver cuffs that I thought were bold enough to make the dress standout. I was thinking about wearing my red suede shoes, but, I really wanted to wear my Jessica Simpson platforms again because I just adore them. I felt I needed some kind of color so I put on my MAC ruby woo lipstick. I will admit, I’m still on the fence about the dress. People kept staring at me all day. I didn’t know if they were thinking, man, that’s an ugly dress or she looks cute.

    YES to this dress!! You made the right decision to go with the black shoe and red lip, because this is BAD! I love it!! It doesn’t look ill-fitting at all. You look fantastic, and if I had seen you in person, I would have definitely told you so! I feel like that sometimes, where I don’t know if people are looking because I look dumb, or because I look good, lol. I keep checking the mirror to make sure I haven’t rubbed off an eyebrow, lmao!! It helps when people actually compliment instead of just stare at you. But honey, you look GREAT! Love it!!

    Roll up the sleeves next time and a had a yellow or spring color belt and wear it over and over again!

    People kept staring at you today because you look EFFING amazing in this outfit! I love everything you wear but for me this outfit is the best one ever. I so want to steal those shoes off your feet. I am going to Jessica Simpson’s site right now to see if I can snag a pair for myself.

    This is super cute. P.s. if you decide you don’t want it, I live in harlem and would totally pay you retail value for it. I had a gray and black striped blazer from tripp nyc that I no longer fit into and I’ve been looking for that color/pattern combo for the last year to no avail.
