Beth Ditto is back with a new fall collection and its a mix of quirky and whimsical. The singer and designer is all about wearing statement making clothes. So its no surprise that her collections are bold and filled with prints. At the beginning of this year, she debut her first namesake collection for spring, It received mixed reviews. Mostly positive. People loved the designs but many wasn’t here for the pricing. Nevertheless, I think the collection was something that the plus community needed. Beth’s contemporary line used luxe fabrics and interesting details.
Now, she is back with a new winter collection that is a little dialed back on the bold prints. However, the prints are still statement making. The new winter collection is filled with fun, quirky, feminine styles. You’ll find an eyelash print tie neck dress and sweater. There’s high-waisted sculptural skirts and belted denim trousers. Plus a double breasted cocoon coat.
What I like about Beth’s collection is that these are pieces that you would see non plus size women wearing. I think Beth brings a unique voice to the plus size fashion industry. Some of her pieces are made with atleast 98% silk, quality wool, and jersey knit. Even better, they’re sewn in NYC and go up to a size 28.
