Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today, I am back with another personal style post. A couple of months ago, I spied a pair of sailor style wide leg jeans on Simply Be’s website. I immediately wanted them but had some reservations. I was concerned about the decorative mid section ad the model Simply Be chose was way too thin to be plus size, so I couldn’t get an idea on how they would really look on a more voluptuous figure. However, I was still intrigued and decided to order them but they were on backorder for atleast a month. Two weeks ago they finally arrived and to my surprise the wide leg jeans fit pretty good.

Although the fit was pretty good, they were a tad bit too big. That’s nothing a tailor can’t fix. The jeans are a light weight denim fabric with a lot of stretch. I could have sized down but the loose fit grew on me. For my first spin in the jeans, I thought I would style them the way I would wear them if I were a pretty young thing in the 70’s (cue the music for MJ’s PYT).
I looked at old photos online and drew inspiration from 70’s icon Diana Ross. She used to wear wide brim hats in the most chicest way. I figured I could channel a little Diana and went out and bought me a wide brim hat to create my 70’s style look.
I paired the pants with a sheer lace blouse, pointed toe pumps in nude, and then added some color with an orange saddle bag carried as a clutch. For makeup, I went with a golden brown eye and a glossy fuschia lip color called “What’s going on” from MAC’s Vamplify collection.
That’s my look. Will you guy’s be rocking the wide leg denim trend?
