Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I have some exciting fashion news for you. Have you ever been a fan of designer Rachel Roy? Have you ever wished her exclusive Rachel Rachel Roy line at Macy’s came in bigger sizes above a size 12? Well, your wish is coming true. This week in WWD, Rachel announced that she will debut a plus size collection in February 2016. Excuse me as I do the tootsie roll to this news. Yup, you heard me right.
According to WWD: “First up, Rachel Rachel Roy is launching a plus-size range in February. There are plans to enter the jewelry, swim and home markets, the latter for spring. (RRR missy will remain a Macy’s exclusive.) Roy’s book, “Design Your Life,” is being published by Dey Street Books in March. And in September, she plans to relaunch the Rachel Roy designer collection for a spring 2017 delivery. The vision for her second try at the designer market will remain the same.”

Rachel Rachel Roy is prices anywhere from $39-$460 and I am assuming the plus size line will be priced around the same. There has been no word as to what the plus size line will look like but I am excited. As a young woman who is a mom, works in corporate America, and likes to enjoy nights out on the town, I have always wished that more plus size designers would create clothes that weren’t only for the club and were more lifestyle brands. Rachel will now be joining the likes of Michael Kors, Donna Karan, and Calvin Klein. The very few designers who have successfully capitalized on the plus size market.
Let me know your thoughts. Are you excited for her plus size line?
