Hey curvy girls all over the world,
There is a new plus size designer on the scene and her name is Christine Kardashian. No, don’t get her confused with being part of the media obsessed Kardashian Klan, this Australian based designer is out to make a name for herself that doesn’t involve being a reality tv star.
Australia has produced quite a few independent plus size designers over the past two years. Christine has set out to cater her line to the in-betweenies. Women sized 12-18. The new designer used to be a public relations specialist, but like many designers, felt she couldn’t find clothes for her size. Christine says,
“For most of my adult life, I have faced the dilemma of not being able to easily find smart, quality pieces that complement my mid-size frame. I was either too big for standard size or too small for plus size. This motivated me to start my own line of women’s clothing – after two years of research and going through the entire design process from end to end, I have achieved my dream with my first capsule collection.”
The capsule collection consists of ready to wear styles from femme peplum tops to structured jackets, and trendy harem pants. The cool thing about this designer is that all her fabrics are sourced in Australia. Although its fall here, in the down under, its spring, so this capsule collection is Christine Kardashian’s Spring/ Summer 2013 collection. Prices range from $175-$415
I am definitely intrigued from what I see. Most designers who cater to size 14 and up rarely focus on ready to wear separates. I am always looking for designers who offer tops, jackets, pants, and skirts, you know the whole enchilada. I know tons of women who fit the in-between mold and I am digging that Christine Kardashian has created a niche within a niche.

It’s already summer here for us but the weather seems to have a mind of its own cause it does feel like Spring. Although her prices are quite steep, it’s nice to know I don’t have to order from outside Australia when looking for something as I am in between sizes
