Hey Curvy Girls,
About a week ago I told you about my unexpected finds at H&M. Today, I wanted to share with you another item that I purchased on that day. Like Mrs. Obama I love cardigans, I will throw one on with anything. When I came across this ruffled (you know I love ruffles) shoulder cardigan at H&M, I immediately fell in love with it. So many curvy girls are afraid of stripes, but, I am not one of them. Yes, sometimes stripes can make you look bigger, but, sometimes you don’t always dress to look slim, you just want to look cute.
I decided to pair the cardigan with a pair of ruched leg skinny jeans and (dare I say it) the Lela Rose Payless shoes I wrote about yesterday. There is so much you can do with stripes, but, today, I was feeling them with jeans and matching shoes. Simple but cute. I chose the orange necklace because I like to add a bright color to whatever I’m wearing. By the way, the shoes are not comfortable.
My Tips: When it comes to wearing stripes to flatter your shape, I think it’s all about the width and color of the stripes. Thicker widths that hit right across the widest part of your stomach will probably make you look bigger in that area, but, in most cases, I find that smaller width stripes on an open neck can actually be flattering on a plus size curvy girl. You just have to kiss a couple of frogs before you find the right one.
What I’m wearing:
Cardigan-H&M
Jeans-Old Navy
Shoes-Lela Rose for Payless
Necklace-Thrift Store
