Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Last week, I was invited to the Modcloth plus size blogger conference and pop up shop. From day one of blogging I’ve always shown Modcloth love because of their plus size offerings. Four years ago, they didn’t have nearly as much plus size clothes as they do now. The conference was a round-table of bloggers and the ModCloth team discussing what plus size women want and need when it comes to fashion. Unlike other independent brands, Modcloth has their own plus size department with a phenomenal team that strictly focuses on our needs.
Modcloth revealed to the room of bloggers that they now have their own in house plus size private label, which means that they will be designing one of a kind vintage inspired pieces for plus sizes. You have already probably seen some of the private label on their site now but there will be more to come. There will be a Fall collection as well as a holiday collection. They’re also going to be doing blogger collaborations. You will also start to see more separates on Modcloth’s site. They’re going to include more tops and bottoms as well as designer collaborations with plus size indie designers.
In addition to the new private label, they have also revamped their sizing chart. If you’ve ever ordered from Modcloth, then you know their 4X is more like a 2X . They’ve heard and read the complaints and have worked closely with their fit expert to get the sizing right and they’ve got it. The new sizing chart will be out soon.
Overall, I enjoyed talking with the brand and understanding the passion for plus size. They know that plus size women are just like any other woman. They want to look and feel good in their clothes. To embrace their mission, they have launched a series of online campaigns showing a plus size model mixed in with their straight sized models. They don’t want to separate us, they want to include us.
