Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Being an entrepreneur and mom is great but it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. I spend my days tending to my son, creating new content for this blog, and pitching my ideas to brands. I can be on a conference call, making dinner, and jotting down blog ideas simultaneously. Basically, I can work so much and so hard and not realize that I need to take a break. In other words, I need a vacation. Maybe a relaxing cruise? I can sort out some Cruise Parking and be on my way! Most times I plan for a vacation and sometimes they just spontaneously come about. Case in point, back in April, I went on a spontaneous vacation with Catherines Plus Sizes as one of their style ambassadors and boy did I really need that trip. It would be my first vacation that I’ve taken in almost a year and I wound up having a relaxed yet fun-filled time. I know that a few people will go for timeshares so they can have a vacation when they want, however, I don’t think I could go for that as I couldn’t make it all the time, plus there have been people searching for how to get rid of wyndham timeshare as well as other timeshares like vacation clubs and resorts, so I don’t think I will go down that road. I’m just glad I got to go on this one!
Catherines invited myself, bloggers Crystal from Sometimes Glam, and Alexandra from Learning To Be Fearless to stay at a gorgeous villa in Palm Springs, California. The Villa was a 5 bedroom house that included a pool and sauna. This would have been my first time seeing a sauna in a house, so you can imagine my excitement. I felt myself mentally preparing for trying to find the right one for me on SaunaArea.com/ or similar websites as well (I’m not sure if I’ll purchase one, but I couldn’t hurt to look). The house in general gave me a 1960’s vibe. It felt like a place the rat pack would’ve stayed at.
Since I got to the house late the night before, I got to meet up with the other style ambassadors the next day. We had breakfast outside near the pool and got to know one another. All I can say is I love, love Crystal and Alex. They’re so down to earth, funny, and uber pretty girls. It was great connecting with them.
After having breakfast by the pool, we went inside and had more girl talkand to of course pose for a few blogger pics. Ya’ll know fashion bloggers can’t resist.
For our first day of activities, I pulled out a simple cobalt blue maxi dress from Catherine’s. It was from their Anywear collection. Now, I will tell you the truth. I have never shopped at Catherine’s because I didn’t think it was the type of store for me, but when I went to their website to find clothes for the trip, I was pleasantly surprised at some of the modern styles they offered, and that I would actually wear. The Anywear Wave dress is something I would rock all summer long. The dress was the perfect color and went amazing with my skin-tone. It also was an easy piece to pack for a quick getaway. The fit was comfortable because it skimmed my curves without being too clingy and I loved the sheer panels at the hem of the dress.Catherines Anywear Wave Dress
So, after the girls and I had breakfast, we headed out to see dinosaurs. To be honest, the kid in me actually thought the dinosaurs were going to be real. LOL! I know, I should be ashamed. However, the dinosaurs we went to see were life like and just plain awesome.
After visiting the dinosaurs we went back to the villa and finished the day off by taking a dip in that fabulous pool.
For a day by the pool I found one of the cutest one piece swimsuits on Catherines website. It was love at first sight when I spotted the Aztec Print one piece swimsuit. Some people think one pieces are boring but I tell you, they’re not.
I loved Crystal’s and Alex’s swimsuits as well. Alex wore a pink criss cross one piece, and Crystal wore a black and white colorblocked one piece with a striped cover up.
The next day, we all got up to go on a canyon tour. We hopped in a bright yellow hummer and drove through the California mountains. I wore a yellow lattice trim tank and a blue embellished maxi skirt.
While on the tour, we saw some pretty cool stuff. We spotted a long horn brown cow
And we took a few flicks next to a Joshua tree.
After taking our tour, we were starving and decided to grab a bite. We cracked up laughing when our waiter came out with this gigantic pepper grinder. For the last day of our trip, we decided to just hang out by the grapefruit tree in the outside the house and spend the last remaining hours together. I truly had a blast with Crystal and Alex. I have crowned them, my new blogger boo’s.
For our last day, I slipped on a purple multi colored dress.
It had a beautiful handkerchief hem. Catherine’s has quite a few dresses like this. You can check them out HERE
I had such a wonderful time in Palm Springs with Catherines Plus Sizes. You can also checkout my mini vlog of the trip below.
