This weekend, I rocked one of my favorite tops from H&M. I bought this red and white polka dot top back in January. I’ve worn it with everything from capri’s to my denim pencil skirt. This weekend I wore it with my white skinny’s and blue suede shoes. What I like about this top is that it’s over sized and billowy. A few years ago, I would have shied away from an over sized billowy top for fear of looking bigger, but, when you become confident with your body you don’t allow negative thoughts of looking bigger to infiltrate your mind.
However, I do believe in creating proportions that make sense. If I wear something with a lot of volume on top I do go slimmer on the bottom. This is not the case all the time, but you get what I’m saying.
I love how vibrant the red is in this top. The light sheerness of the top makes it perfect for summer. When I wear these white skinny jeans I feel sexy and powerful because I know skinny women who are afraid of white and skinny jeans. A long time ago I stopped telling myself what I can’t wear and just started wearing what I wanted.

GREAT outfit – you look gorgeous! And I just clicked through to your “Why size doesn’t always matter” post – great points about looking for things that fit, not things that should or shouldn’t fit based on the number on the tag. Thanks!

Girl you look HOTT! I also love the way I feel in my white skinny jeans, I just posted in them recently.
I also bought a dress from H&M, that was a size 12 myself! So you are so right about not paying attention to the sizing and trying things on!
I love those blue suede shoes!
You are always so polished and well put together, love it!

Hi,
Not sure if I am ever commented here before.
As a plus size diva and also a seamstress I learned the first thing I ever learned was to learn my measurements.
I have scored some awesome Ralph Lauren and other designer duds because of using my measurements.
Know your measurements and if you need help figuring out how to do your own I am willing to show you how

I love, love, love(!) this outfit! You look absolutely amazing and your words ring true. There are so many ladies out there afraid of skinny jeans and the color white (let alone the two together.) Amen to wearing what you want to wear.
I have to say those blue shoes just make the outfit for me. I love them!

How cute are you. I like the entire look. Really love the top and handbag. You did ya thing with the pop of blue. In regards to your message about wearing what you want..THIS is why I love your blog. I’m skinty and everything DOES NOT look good on me. I have learned even before my own blog to wear what I feel confident, classy and sexy in. Opinions can kick rocks barefeet.
