Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I love checking out new fashion sites and apps that allow me to shop other people’s stylish goods. I am not a thrifter but I definitely enjoy the thrill of finding stylish clothes at an affordable cost. One of the things I always wanted to do but have never done was to attend a swap party. You’ve heard of those, right? Those parties where friends get together and they bring their most stylish never worn or gently worn pieces to your house and you swap your stylish never worn, gently worn pieces with them. While I love just about everything I buy, I can definitely part with some things to make room for some new pieces. With spring being just around the corner, this is the perfect time for me to do a little closet cleaning.
Since I have never participated in a swap party before, I was pleasantly intrigued about a new community called SWAPDOM that a blogging buddy told me about. SWAPDOM is an online community that allows you to upload some of your new to gently worn items to share with the SWAPDOM community. While people get to browse and check out the items you own, you get to browse theirs as well and you never know, you may find a piece that you’ve been coveting, in your size, ready for the taking. Once you’ve checked out what other swappers have uploaded, all you have to do is make a request for that item. After you make a request, you tell the person that is offering the items what you are willing to swap for. It’s exactly the way you would do it with your friends. I’ll swap you my polka dot dress for your leopard print dress.
The experience in a whole is unique because you swap in groups, there is no bidding war, and you don’t have to negotiate anything. It’s basically a cool way to exchange things around the country. I recently just signed up for SWAPDOM and plan to do my first swap. Up for grabs are the 3 dresses above.
