In my early corporate days I wore club clothes to the office and just threw a blazer on top to make it professional. Lol! A BIG no no. There weren’t many places to shop for plus size work clothes for young professionals in the early 2000’s. During that time, spring was the hardest season to shop for work clothes. All the clothes I liked were short dresses or too tight skirts. Any professional clothing looked to matronly for me.
Spring Plus Size Workwear
Fast forward to now, plus size women have countless places to shop for professional looking spring plus size clothing. One of the best places to shop for stylish office gear is Talbots. Whenever, I was on the hunt for quality trouser pants, button down shirts, and jackets, they would have what I needed. No, they’re not trendy but they definitely have the classic workwear pieces that you will have for years.
Shop My Look: Gingham Trench, Polka Dot Shirt, Hampshire Trousers, Sandals
They have all the classic professional pieces women of all ages and sizes can wear to work, in sizes 0-24. My personal go-to’s are their Hampshire pants, which are sleek, chic, and comfy. They have just the right amount of stretch for us curvy girls. Plus, they come in a wide variety of colors.
As for spring workwear accessories, Talbots has a pretty snazzy assortment of handbags and shoes. I spied this black leather bucket bag and two toned block heels.
I also love their button-down shirts. Especially if you’re a busty girl like me. This polka dot shirt is actually right on trend this season and the fit is comfortable. I didn’t have to worry about any gaping.
