Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I’ve already started my pre-fall shopping and I will be doing a full haul on those pieces this week. One of the items that I got from a pre-fall sale was a super cute Simply Be colorblock pencil skirt in blue, black, and white. Remember when colorblocking dominated the fashion world back in 2011-2013. Well, I predict that we are going to start seeing a flood of colorblocked pieces for 2016. In the meantime this skirt will be one of my go to pieces.
This skirt has so many chic elements that gives you the flexibility of dressing it up or down. I love the asymmetrical cut of the skirt because it makes my hips look slimmer and the little slit at the bottom of the skirt allows me to move around with ease and not feel restricted like a traditional cut pencil skirt can.
This skirt has a lot of stretch in it. I wish I would have sized down. It’s no biggie, nothing a little tailoring can’t fix. I wanted to create a casual look with the skirt but still look polished. I chose a simple scoop neck t-shirt to bring out the white in the skirt.
To give this casual look a little polish, I added a pair of polka dot platform sandals.
I love to mix and match colors so I added a pink patent leather clutch to make the look a little more fun and girly.
As for accessories, I went with silver spiral earrings, a black chain link necklace and a black and lucite bracelet.
