Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Do you ever step outside of your core personal style? Ever since high school, I have always been drawn to classic sophisticated looks. While my peers were all about jeans and t-shirts with a name brand label and shopping trips to Jimmy Jazz. I was at Banana Republic looking for slim fit trousers and printed blouses. LOL! I know, but that has always been me. To keep my classic style youthful, I have always incorporated trends into my look because despite what people say about trends, they’re fun and an easy way to spice up your wardrobe.
This summer, I have definitely stepped outside of my classic sophisticated style and added a little more urban street flair to it. Remember my fatigue skinny jeans and how I paired it with it a black blazer? Well, this week, I decided to finish out my summer with that same style goal. Case in point, this POW t-shirt I found at Forever 21.
I can’t really say that I am t-shirt type of girl but I definitely enjoy a cute one every now and again. When it comes to switching up my style its important to me for the change to be authentic. After buying the shirt, I initially had it pegged to wear with my ripped denim jeans but I thought why can’t my classic sophisticated style coexist with street trends?
I decided to nix the jeans ensemble and rock the t-shirt with a pencil skirt. The pencil skirt represented my classic sophisticated side and therefore the two pieces combined showcased both sides of my style interests. I normally hate to do matchy matchy but I couldn’t resist how well my colorblocked Simply Be sandals matched both pieces.
I was quite pleased with the look, especially how comfortable it was to wear and easy to put together.
