STYLE JOURNEY: QUILTED

Hey curvy girls all over the world,

Last week we touched a little bit on the quilted trend (read here).   I like the quilted trend and wanted to partake in it. However, I needed to find the perfect piece that fit my style. When I saw this quilted exposed zipper skirt on the Simply Be site, I just had to have it. It has such a retro and sexy look to it. I wanted to wear the skirt to the office because on the weekends I really wear jeans or pants.  The office would make for the perfect place to express a little bit of individuality yet professionalism. Essentially I wanted to create a sophisticated and chic look.

I paired the skirt with a  polka dot blouse also from Simply Be. This polka dot blouse has a relaxed fit and I love the collarless neckline. I probably could have sized down but I like to wear my shirts untucked with jeans.

I wanted to add a pop of color so I decided to add a pair of blue suede shoes and accented the look with gold jewelry. I love hoop earrings  and chose to rock a pair with a chain link necklace.
