It’s funny how you can look through your closet and realize you have every piece under the sun except for the basics. Every year I feel like I lack a basic coat. I have everything from leopard print to faux fur in an assortment of colors. What I don’t have is a simple black coat.
Since fall started, I have been on a hunt for a black coat. Back in July after attending a Simply Be blogger event, I spotted a black leather sleeve coat that was sleek and classic in cut. the leather sleeves and collar were an added plus. The leather accents took the coat from bland to chic.

When Simply Be reached out to me to try a piece from their fall collection, I knew what I wanted. When it arrived last week, I was ecstatic because I had so many outfit plans for it.
My first look is what you see today, a casual weekend look. I am always looking to add polish to my Saturday outfits and this coat does just that. I teamed it up with a striped top and red skinny jeans.
Now, I am not one for mixing prints but I do like to step outside my comfort zone every once in awhile, so instead of choosing black heels, I opted for a pair of leopard print ankle boots to add a little spiciness to my look.
What do you think?
