Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Happy November! I am super excited for the arrival of November for a myriad of reasons. The most important being that November is my birthday month. Yup, Nov.11th Veterans Day is my born day and I have so much to reflect on. Over the past year, some amazing things have happened to me. I’ve learned quite a few good and harsh lessons when it comes to being a parent and entrepreneur. I love doing both but man, I would be lying if I said it was easy. As an entrepreneur, I am constantly thinking of my next move, my next score. I am never content once a project or campaign is completed. I have to continue working and pushing to achieve my goals and dreams. Nothing can stop me. Just call me unstoppable
My goal for this blog has always been to make it bigger and better. Each year we add new features and articles to keep you our readers engaged. This month, we have quite a few things in store for you.First, we are bringing back our At The Office feature, where we will be featuring Kelly Augustine, who is the merchandiser for Gwynnie Bee. I can’t wait for you guys to read that. She’s such a sweetheart.
I’ve done some light traveling and have a post coming up this week on my visit to Atlanta for the Family Dollar Fabulous event. I got to chat with hair and beauty brands, see the R&B singer Tank in concert, and I got to visit the The World of Cocoa Cola museum.
One of my goals for the remainder of 2015 is to work with some new brands. As a blogger, It’s always nice to have long lasting relationships with brands but it’s also good to step out and work with new brands. For a long time, I wanted to work with Talbots and this year that happened, twice, might I add (see HERE). A few weeks ago, I went to their spring preview and was blown away by all the amazing pieces they have for both misses and women’s plus. The brand is truly a class act. They even, gave me my very own monogrammed scarf and flowers to say thank you.
I know this month is going to be super busy for me and the team because, we are going to be going to so many spring previews. Recently I went to Nina Shoes spring 2016 preview and I wanted every shoe I saw. Especially these sassy Swarovski crystal embedded heels. So, be on the lookout for the full preview article this month.
Although SC has been predominantly fashion, get ready to start seeing more beauty articles. We are going to be covering everything from makeup to new hair products for all hair types. Mizani just released a new collection of hair products for natural and curly hair and I will be sharing the details on their new “True Textures” hair line.
Speaking of beauty, I am completely obsessed with gel polish. When it comes to my nails, I am all about a classic pink colored mani. I like to be in an out. When gel polish came out and I saw how much longer it took to get a manicure, I had written it off. It wasn’t until fashion week in September when I received a complimentary gel manicure that I had to rethink my decision. Right now, I have been loving this gold gel color from OPI. Before you ask, no, I don’t know the name of the color. I always forget to look or if I look, I always forget the name by the time I leave the nail salon.
Also, for the month of November, I will be writing about my experience at the Simply Stylist conference. I went as a guest of Dove and Simply Stylist. It is arguably one of the best conferences I’ve been to and actually learned from.
I noticed that you guys have been really engaged with my outfit posts lately, so expect more cute looks this month. All my outfits for the past two months have been shot by Lindsey of Pristine Finesse.Checkout my most recent look (HERE). He’s the only other photographer that I use in place of my nephew and tripod. That’s Lindsey below. He’s such a professional.
This November is going to be great. We will have loads of fashion filled articles and will be incorporating some thought provoking pieces. If you don’t want to miss out, make sure you sign up for our newsletter below
