Hey curvy girls all over the world,
BCBG is in my top 5 list of designers that need to do a plus size line. Their designs are so ladylike, modern, and edgy simultaneously. Their clothes is what I would want to live my life in as a plus size woman.
Next season, BCBG wants you to toughen up your feminine side. We all know that spring can be a cloud of sweet and girly dresses with flowing silhouettes. It’s become a common thing. However, next season, the house that Max Azria built is giving those sweet spring looks a little edge.
When we look back on spring 2012, color was a heavyweight contender in the realm of trends. We even saw the remergence of neon this past season. I’m quite sure at one point or another you thought to yourself, can we can the over indulgence in bright colors and bring back pretty neutrals. Well, atleast I did and thanks to BCBG neutrals are back.
Max and Lubov Azria have a knack for designing well cut stylish clothes that the everyday working girl wants to wear. Their spring collection was composed of a medley of body skimming and relaxed flowing maxi dresses with a color palette of black, white, graphite, with splashes of peach and orange.
What was surprising yet interesting to see was the leather harnesses’s that were placed smack dead in the middle of light weight dresses and tops. Although this collection seemed like an edgier BCBG it still offered the label’s feminine aesthetic with lace detailing and flashes of skin via exposed necklines and side slits.
In my opinion this was not a typical BCBG collection but it was one that conveyed strong female empowerment.
