Let me be the first to say, that I absolutely love Spanx. I really do. I use Spanx for light weight control. When I wear a skater dress or trousers, but, sometimes I need the real deal Holyfield when it comes to support and control for my plus size body.
Believe it or not, I hate having to feel restricted when having to wear shapewear. However, as a plus size woman with a gut, butt, and hips. There is no question about it, I have to wear under garments with support and control. I know there are a myriad of plus size women who don’t believe in shapewear. They follow the motto, let it all hang out. For me, I let it all hang out in the privacy of my home because the streets of NYC isn’t ready for all my jelly. I remember back in the day and in my mothers and grandmothers day, we didn’t use the word shapewear. We used the word girdle. If your gut was seen piercing through a fitted dress or you could see the dimples in your backseat, my grandmother would say, chile, you need a girdle for all that. To me, a girdle is the real deal and the king of all shapewear. You may have to roll on the floor or do a couple of squats just to get it on, but when you finally get it on, it made you appear as if you lost about 2 or more inches off your waist and other parts of your body.
Times have changed and thanks to technology and the creative minds of designers we now have shapewear that offers serious support and control without feeling like someone duck taped your body and the options for plus size women are endless and stylish.

i live for my body magic. it may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it is the bizness for my life. gives me good posture. albeit this is for special occasions and for my bodycon or fitted ponte knit dresses only. it is not for everyday wear. For something that i could use for every day wear, Family Dollar stores offers a $7 high waisted brief that slims and nips in the belly/gut area nicely.
