Hey curvy girls all over the world,
The number one trend of the season is black and white graphic prints. From Marc Jacobs to Alexander Wang, black and white was dominating the spring 2013 runways. Always down for classic combo’s I’ve been buying countless graphic black and white pieces. As a young professional it is important that my work wardrobe is polished and modern. As a plus size woman it can be a challenge because the more trendy styles are often only appropriate for going out and the office appropriate styles can look a bit matronly.
Last week, I indulged in Bloomingdale’s friends and family sale. I was looking for pieces to wear to work. I found this DKNY plus graphic print shirtdress that I absolutely loved at first site. I loved it even more when I realized that I could get 20% off with the friends and family coupon. As you all know I am a fan of shirtdresses for work, especially during spring and summer. They’re just so easy breezy and you don’t have to worry about any pulling and tugging. (Checkout last month’s post on shirtdresses HERE)
The dress is very lightweight and sheer but it comes with a black slip under it. I swapped the belt that came with it for an OBI belt to add structure. I added a pop of color with my yellow suede ankle strap pumps, and kept it professional with a Michael Kors Hamilton tote.
