It’s Workwear Wednesday! Today, I am talking about how to take one piece from work to weekend. I’ve stated numerous times on this blog that I believe in transitional pieces that can work double duty. I don’t really live by the rule that your work clothes should be separate from your weekend clothes. I’m not saying you should be at work looking like your going to the club or at the club looking like you’re going to work. I do believe in having balance when it comes to your wardrobe. I just find myself wearing weekend pieces to work and vice versa . When it came time to do a little spring shopping I stumbled upon this white faux leather plus size skirt from Calvin Klein. I immediataley fell inlove with it and when I bought it, I went home and came up with countless outfits.
My first look was a work look. I wanted to create a look that was perfect for spring and not a traditional office ensemble. I decided to team the skirt up with a coral striped buttoned down blouse from Forever 21 plus, matching shoes from INC, and a tan leather tote from Simply Be.
To give the skirt a weekend feel, I chose to keep it a little trendy with a jeweled gray sweater from Vince Camuto Plus and a pair of blue gladiator sandals from Steve Madden. The sweater made the look more casual but the shoes kept the look polished.
