Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Is it safe to say that the last time you thought about H&M plus was when they first launched a couple of years ago? I have been highly disappointed with the plus size offerings the brand has presented to their plus size customers. Ill fitting cuts and snooze worthy styles was enough for me to completely write them off. Every time H&M on 34th street I would also have a dead man walking strut whenever I decided to visit the plus section. I used to be a super fan of H&M even when they first got rid of their plus size line. I was so happy that I could shimmy my ample booty and hips into their 14’s and 16’s and whenever I could easily slide into a size large top or dress, I would jump for joy in the fitting room. So, when they announced they would be bringing back their plus size line, I think every plus size girl thought it was going to be amazing, instead it was disappointing (read my first review of H&M Plus HERE).
It’s been over two years and their plus size line has been stagnant. The designs are basic and bland and the fit is still funky. I have been giving them the benefit of the doubt because we know it takes time for fashion brands to evolve and figure out what direction they’re going in. Forever 21 has done a complete 180 since their launch back in 2010. So, I still have hope that H&M plus will do the same. Although, I had written their plus size line off, I found myself checking in every now and again with hopes of seeing a revamped collection that offered on trend pieces. While that hasn’t fully happened yet, recently they showcased their summer collection with a few styles that were pleasing to the eye.

While these pieces are cute and stylish, my little fashion mind still wonders if H&M will ever give their plus size consumer a collection beyond basics that resembles every thing they offer their non plus size customer.

Do they have plus in store, or is it just online? I HATE having to have things shipped–the wait and the (non refundable) shipping costs are annoying
OMG, that line is a mess. Just boring
I don’t think they have made an improvement at all. The fit is still so totally off and the selections are dreadful. I always look through the site hoping it will different or better but it never is. I hate that they don’t do a more comparable selection to their straight size line.
I feel like they’re a hit an miss. The styles are very basic but sometimes you may find a cute dress or top.
I love all of the outfits but I think that yellow skirt is divine 🙂

There is SO MUCH BLACK! I want color, I want active wear, I want what everyone else gets at H&M and it just makes me sad to shop. They launched the online store in the fall last year so I bought a bunch of things that work well for fall. I figured spring/summer would bring color and freshness. Nope. More black. Ugh.
