Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I got some hair products to chat with you about. Since summer is literally just a couple weeks away, I’ve been trying out a few new hair products that I found at Target. Ya’ll know Target always has new products in their store every month, and for the month of May, I found these really awesome new Hair Food products. I don’t know about ya’ll, but I had never heard of Hair Food products until I spotted these at Target. Hair Food products are inspired by the nutrition found in power foods. A lot of the problems we face with our hair can usually be solved with the help of some power foods, but unfortunately not many of us know about it. Many women today, though, may also have hair fall and other issues due to hormonal imbalance, thanks to pollution and all the toxicity around us. Taking supplements for hormone balance may help restore overall health, and even hair health! Not without consulting a doctor first, though. Besides that, these cool new products I found should be of some help. The products’ crafted recipe blends naturally inspired ingredients and fragrances to revitalize your hair. Hair Food products come in three varieties. There is the Color Protect Collection, the Hair Milk Collection, and the Sulfate Free Kiwi Dry Shampoo. You can check out the full collection here
Since I don’t have color-treated hair and I don’t really mess with dry shampoo, I decided to try out the Hair Milk Collection because it gently hydrates hair and it’s infused with vanilla and jasmine fragrance. It smells so, so good. Another great thing about Hair Food products is that they are gluten-, paraben-, mineral oil-, and dye-free. If you do have color-treated hair, for instance, you’ve experimented with blue hair dye and you want it looking vibrant all year round, you are going to need to research shampoos and conditioners for colored hair so you are not wrecking it and causing it to fade quickly. During the summer months, I have a few do’s to keep your hair looking healthy while beating the summer heat.
My first do is to keep your hair clean, hydrated, and smooth. I used the Hair Food Hair Milk Shampoo to help moisturize and smooth my hair. The shampoo created a rich lather and gently cleansed my hair.
My second do is to always condition your hair. In conjunction with the Hair Milk shampoo, I conditioned my hair with the Hair Milk Conditioner. I absolutely loved this conditioner because it made my hair feel like butter.
After putting in about two pumps of the conditioner, I combed it through with a wide-tooth comb so I could make sure I coated all my strands.
After rinsing out the conditioner, it made my hair look moisturized.
I then blow-dried my hair straight.
After blow-drying, I went in with my flat iron to help further smooth and straighten my hair.
My final result was a shiny, healthy-looking blowout.
My third and final do is to pin your hair up when the summer heat becomes too much. No one likes hair plastered to their neck because of the sweltering heat. I utilize bobby pins to get a simple up-do.
What are some of your summer hair do’s or don’ts?
