Hey curvy girls all over the world,
If you’ve been following me for a while now, then you know there isn’t a fall season that goes by without me getting a new sweater dress. Sweater dresses in the fall are like shirtdresses in the spring. I love a good sweater dress because they can be chic and cozy. It also doesn’t hurt that they’re easy instant outfits that don’t require a lot of time and thought. This season, I found quite a few sweater dresses from New York & Company. A few weeks ago, I browsed their website and found some cute sweater dresses from the Eva Mendes collection. Ya’ll know I love me some Eva Mendes pieces. Her styles never disappoint. My eyes immediately were glued to the Eva Mendes Elina Sweater Dress.
What I’m Wearing: Eva Mendes Elina Dress, New York & Company Fringe purse, Boots
The fine lines and colorful stripes of this dress is what drew me to it. I like the simplicity and fun details, like the bell sleeves. The fit was perfect. It hugged my curves without being clingy. As a voluptuous woman, I’m always thinking about how knitwear fits on my curves. Do you think about that too when it comes to wearing sweater dresses? Sometimes sweater dresses can be too thick and heavy. Have you guys ever felt that when wearing one? However, this one wasn’t. It is smooth and soft to the touch.
Although its November, the weather here in NYC has been a mix of chilly and warm days. I wanted to create a modern and snazzy look, so I paired the dress with tall black suede boots and black tights. It screamed New York chic to me. As a New Yorker, I like black just not when it’s boring. This sweater dress is far from being a snooze.
To make the look a little more interesting, I added this fun fringe shoulder bag also from New York & Company. Fringe is a popular trend this year and I like the cute circle shape of the bag.
