Like many, I dread the day my period comes. Not because of the cramps or mood swings but because I have period leakage. Yup, you heard me right. My period leakage has become an annoying and embarrassing experience. I have a heavy flow and sometimes most pads don’t give me the coverage I need. My period leakage affects what I wear and even how I sleep. During the warmer months, I have to swear off white jeans because I fear that when I sit and stand, I’m going to have a stain on my jeans. When I sleep at night, sometimes I have to sleep on a towel just so I don’t stain my sheets. I’ve ruined my mattress so many times I can’t even count how many mattresses I’ve had over the years. I want to end these leaks once and for all so I can finally have a luxurious mattress like the ones they recommend on sites like Sleep Education. These leaks have been happening to me for years, so I’ve never been able to invest in the clothes, bedding or mattress that I really want. Usually, I just change my pad more frequently to help avoid leakage.
When it comes to pads, one size does not fit all. Not only do I need a ladies pad to fit my heavy flow, I need a pad that’s going to fit my plus-size body comfortably. -All sizes are color coded. Yellow-1, Green-2, Blue-3, Orange-4, Purple-5.
Out of all 5 sizes, I prefer to use size 4 and 5. I use 4 during the day. For night, I sleep in size 5. It’s long without feeling like I’m wearing a diaper and its wide enough in the back to block any leakage onto my sheets. The new Always My Fit system has me covered front to back.
