A few weeks ago it was announced that Lord & Taylor would be closing some of its stores by early 2019. The brand also announced that it wanted to create a larger digital presence. Although they are closing stores, they would be partnering with Walmart to offer some of their premium designer brands. It’s a move that was shocking and many people were wondering how they were going to pull that off and if it would even make sense. Well, this week, Lord & Taylor at Walmart made its debut and we are not mad at it.
In a press release Walmart said that Lord & Taylor Flagship will now be on their website and will include more than 125 brands that will include, women, men, and kids.
The flagship, which will debut with more than 125 brands, including Tommy Bahama, Vince Camuto, Miss Selfridge, La La Anthony, Lucky Brand, H Halston and Effy, will be part of Walmart.com’s broader fashion destination.
Just a few months ago Walmart did a little revamping themselves and got rid of some of their classic brands and introduced a few new brands that included Terra & Sky, a plus size clothing brand. Now, with Lord & Taylor flagship, they are definitely stepping up their game to become a fashion destination.
Denise Incandela who is the head of fashion e-commerce at Walmart says, “As part of the Walmart.com redesign, and our commitment to establish Walmart.com as a destination for fashion, we recently relaunched our new fashion shopping experience. The new experience is aligned with how customers shop the category, with editorial elements that inspire customers to browse and buy, and has already generated positive customer response.”
Ya’ll know we had to be nosy and head to Walmart and see what they had in store for us plus size girls. So far, Lord & Taylor at Walmart for plus sizes includes brands like Michael Kors Plus, City Chic, LaLa Anthony, Xehar, New Look, Cherokee, DH by Dollhouse, White Mask, Paper Tee, Ulla Popken and New York Laundry just to name a few. The clothing is very affordable with myriads of plus size apparel under $30.
In addition to clothing, you’ll also find a slew of name brand shoes and accessories from Karl Lagerfeld, Betsey Johnson, Vince Camuto, and Nine West.
