Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Ashley Nell Tipton And JCPenney
Designer and season 14 Project Runway winner, Ashley Nell Tipton just announced a brand partnership with JCPenney. The partnership makes Ashley an Ambassador for JCPenney’s new Boutique+ line, which specifically caters to plus size women. The boutique will launch this May and will be available in 500 stores and online at JCP. The line will also range in sizes 0X-4X and 5X will be available online. One of the great things about this collection is that prices will range from $13-$60.
After her Project Runway win, many wondered what would be Ashley’s next move. and this partnership seems to make sense. According to an interview with USA Today, Ashley said,
“I didn’t want to just get noticed for one thing, wanted to keep going. This is a great platform I have right now and I don’t want to fade away.”
The Boutique plus collection will also feature actual designs from Ashley this fall season in store. Ashley wants to design clothes that aren’t out there for plus size women. Her winning Project Runway collection showed just that. She sent plus size models down the runway in crop tops and sheer lace.
The JCPenney boutique+ collection is made up of fun flirty dresses, trendy denim, basic tops, and skirts. When it comes to design inspiration, Ashley says, “A lot of my inspiration is what straight size women wear — why is there a disconnect from what they wear and what we can wear?”
Here’s a sneak peek of how boutique+ will look in stores this summer.
