Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Now that Milan Fashion Week is over, I’ve had time to browse through the collections of some of my favorite designers. One collection that stuck out the most was from Marina Rinaldi. Marina Rinaldi has been team plus when all we had was Lane Bryant. They offer plus sizes ranging from 14W-24W. They were one of very few designers that offered plus size women that luxury designer style. With so many new plus size designers, sometimes we forget about them. Today, I want to show the designer some love because their upcoming spring 2017 collection is one that deserves recognition.
We are so used to seeing sleek sophisticated designs from Marina Rinaldi. They offer a lot of workwear and evening wear. However, for spring 2017, they did a 180. The brand has teamed up with designer and Haitian label Stella Jean for a colorful and print filled capsule collection.
The spring 2017 capsule collection hit the runway during Milan Fashion Week. Inspired by the Caribbean and Mediterranean, Stella Jean brought her signature bold prints and vibrant colors to the Marina Rinaldi brand and we are here for it.
The capsule collection is choc-full of geometric prints, which you will find on flared skirts with belted waists. Stella managed to cohesively bring together her bold designs with Marina Rinaldi’s signature sophisticated style. Even simple classic buttoned down shirts have a colorful spirit. From capri trousers to shirtdresses, Stella managed to take these classic styles and give them flavor and funk.
Marina Rinaldi and Stella Jean capsule collection is not for people who are print shy. This collection is a print lovers dream. While the pieces are statement making, they can easily be toned down. For instance, the geometrical printed coat would look effortless and awesome with a white tee and a pair of skinny jeans.
