Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Most people think I wear dresses and skirts all the time. Most of the time, yes, but not all of the time. You would be pleasantly surprised to know that I absolutely love a great fitting pair of trousers. Well fitting trousers, much like jeans are not easy to find and they require a lengthy process to find a good pair that flatters your body type.
I normally stick to skinny leg trousers but this spring season I wanted something different and fun but that would fit my gut and butt in a flattering way. The troubles of having a big butt and gut can make finding any pant or jean a pain in the you know what. Nevertheless, I am always up for a style or shopping challenge.
Last week, we did a post on our top fave pieces from Old Navy (read HERE) in that post, I featured a pair of drapey trouser pants. They looked so modern yet trendy. I just knew I had to try them. That same day, I placed and order and when they arrived I was so thirsty to try them on.
Let me tell you guys that when I slipped these pants on, I couldn’t believe the fit, the quality, and just the overall chicness of the pants. I stared at them in shock, because I couldn’t believe they came from the Old Navy Plus Size section. I decided to size up in the pants because they didn’t have any stretch. I am glad I did because the drape was perfect and the waist has elastic but it is covered by the belt on the waist.
I chose to breakout one of my new fave pieces, which is a cape from Ashley Stewart. I love how light weight it was. Perfect for spring and on a cool summer night. I have so many outfit ideas in my head for this piece. I wore my black ankle strap sandals with it. I slipped on a turquoise blue cuff and a pair of hoop earrings, and completed the look with a chain link necklace.
