Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I have to be honest, the first day of NYFW was a wash out, literally. It rained all day. I woke up slightly annoyed because it can be a pain in the butt to travel from show to show in the rain. Plus, I had a completely different outfit in mind but when I saw that rain, I was like nope. Let me go with something else. Sometimes I can allow the weather to determine the type of day I am going to have. Instead of being a grouch all day about the whether, I decided to suck it up, and say my little morning mantra, “Today will be a great day” and no lie, it truly was. After coffee that is.
For day one of NYFW I had three shows on the agenda. I had Nicholas K at 9AM and then I had about an hour of downtime until my next show. I decided to get a manicure at a nearby nail salon on 14th street. Ya’ll know I forgot to look at the color, right? After my mani, I headed to Pier 59 to catch the Australian Women’s Wear collection which was going to feature some plus size pieces.
While at the Australian Women’s collection, I ran into my blogging buddy Lorna from The Fabulous Report. Hey Lorna!
For the rainy day, I wanted to wear something that was going to give me a standout polished look.
I went for one of my absolute favorite skirts of all time. A leopard peplum pencil skirt that I scored for a steal at Ashley Stewart last year. The cut and quality of this skirt was worth more than the little $35 I spent on it. However, it is a standout piece and everytime I wear it, I get tons of compliments.
I paired the leopard print pencil skirt with a black lace top from Mynt 1792. I accessorized with a gold and green jeweled chain link necklace. I went for gold hoop earrings and a jeweled encrusted bracelet. I finished my look off with a classic pair of black peeptoe pumps.
Stay tuned for upcoming show reviews and street style photos.
