A few weeks ago I took a trip to Lane Bryant to checkout their new fall collection. I decided to film and inside the dressing room video for our Youtube channel. I wanted to show you guys what the fall collection looked like on a real plus size woman. After browsing the store, I found so many cute pieces. Out of all the clothes that I tried on, there was one piece in particular that wowed me. It was a plus size leopard print suit. Leopard print is a fall trend this year, so I had to try it on. If you’ve been following me for any amount of time, you would know that I love leopard print. I love the boldness and gaudiness of the print.
Fall Plus Size Leopard Print Suit
After putting the suit on, I felt so good in it that I had to do a little shimmy in the mirror. I couldn’t believe how perfect the suit fit me. It hugged my curves ever so gently. The leopard print blazer snatched my waist and the stretch leopard print pants made my legs look longer than they really are. Ya’ll, this plus size leopard print suit from Lane Bryant is (for lack of a better word) FLY.
Leopard Print Blazer, Leopard Print Pants, Red Pumps
Since the blazer and pants were made with stretch, I was able to size down in both pieces. The waist on the pants are stretch pull on, which made for a comfortable fit around my stomach. It also made it much easier for me to tuck a top in. The blazer has a one hook closure that helps to slim the waist. The lapel on the blazer has faux leather trimming.
Back in the day, finding a well fitted plus size leopard print suit would have been impossible. Now, we actually have options. Lane Bryant even has another brown and tan leopard print suit that is equally as cute and chic as this black and white style that I’m wearing.
When it came to styling ideas, I knew I wanted to keep it simple. Since the suit itself is bold and statement making, I wanted to pair it with the right top. Initially, I was going to go with a lace top. Then I was thinking about just doing a sheer and mesh bustier for a sexy look. Instead, I decided to go with a white tie neck blouse. I thought the white blouse and the black neck tie would compliment the suit. Plus, it gave it more of a fall fashion look.
When I posted my inside the dressing room video up on Youtube featuring this suit, someone made a comment saying, “Someone your size should not wear full on leopard print.” Really! My first thought was girl, bye. My second thought was who told you that? I commented back to her that it was sad that she felt that way. Where do people get this stuff.
If the suit looked bad on me, that would be a different story. However, this Lane Bryant plus size leopard print suit looked so good on. The shape of the suit complimented my silhouette and the print was small. It wasn’t overwhelming. Sometimes I think people really can’t handle plus size women being bold and wearing what they want.
