My Style Journey: Trying Out The Lace Up Denim Trend

Hey curvy girls all over the world,

Since I’ve been working from home, I haven’t really had the appetite for getting dressed. I used to enjoy waking up every day and figuring out what to wear. However, I’ve been cringing at the thought of getting dressed. I just want to stay in my lounge clothes. I never thought I would ever feel this way. What has also been contributing to my lack luster feelings about getting dressed is the weather. The weather has been all over the place lately. One day its warm and the next its cold.

Since I’ve been cooped up in the house, this week, I decided to go out. I looked in my closet and picked out pieces I had never worn before. Towards the end of last year, I went on a major shopping spree and have been hoarding my purchases. While shuffling through the closet, I saw a pair of lace up jeggings that I bought from Lord & Taylor.

These lace up jeggings are from the Nadia Aboulhosn collection with Addition Elle. I remember seeing them on the runway when I went to the Addition Elle fall/holiday show back in September. At first I was skeptical to wear them because I wasn’t sure about the exposed legs. It felt a little weird. I’ve never been one to shy away from trying something new, so I slipped them on.

I liked the fit because the jeggings have a lot of stretch. Not the cheap loose stretch but this stretch was structured and felt more like I had on a girdle without me feeling restrained. I added a black mesh neck top from Ashley Stewart and a biker jacket from Simply Be. For accessories, I went with a pair of red suede pumps from Diane Von Furstenberg,

I also added my red leather Gucci shoulder bag and silver jewelry to complete my look.
