Hey curvy girls all over the world,
When it comes to my personal style, I am all about color. I rarely wear black or neutrals. Give me pinks, blues, oranges, yellows, and sometimes red. However, this year, I’ve challenged myself a bit and decided to add more neutral colors. Introducing neutrals into my wardrobe hasn’t been easy. Whenever I’m shopping, my eyes automatically go to where all the colorful clothing is. Literally, I’ve had to tell myself no color right now. My goal is to strengthen the basic pieces in my wardrobe by adding more neutrals. This way, when I’m creating outfits it will be easy to come up with cute no-brainer looks on chill days.
After browsing through my closet, I realized the one neutral I don’t have much of is grey. I’ve always looked at grey is a downer color. However, when I saw a grey and white striped shirt from Lane Bryant, I knew I needed in my closet. I was contemplating on what to wear with it and decided to add a pair of light grey skinny jeans with it.
Striped Shirt, Jeans, Shoes
The striped shirt had a relaxed fit so I chose to tie it up at the waist because the jeans were high rise. I can wear this shirt with quite a few things but it felt perfect with jeans.
Oh and these jeans may just be the best pair of jeans I’ve found in about a year. I found them in the American Rag section in Macy’s. I’ve never tried their jeans before but I want to go back for me. The ripped detail around the knees was sleek and the jeans just made my legs look long.
Fit Details: The fit was true to size. They’re high rise with light stretch. Fitted through the hips and thighs, and narrow at the ankle.
Because I just needed to add a pop of color somewhere, I wore my red Gucci Soho London bag. The red really popped against the gray. To stay in the neutral family, I slipped on a pair of black suede pumps from Call it Spring.
My makeup was neutral too. I just did a cat eye. Also, I swiped on one of my fave fuchsia lipsticks from Marc Jacobs called Boy Gorgeous. For accessories, I went with a silver studded cuff bracelet, studded black watch, and a pair of silver shoulder length earrings.
