Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today, I am excited to finally announce that we have been working on a mini web series. It has always been my goal to continue to grow Stylish Curves. Last year, we did the pop up shop which had an amazing turnout. (see here) After seeing my pop up shop dream realized, it got me to thinking about all the other dreams that I had for my self.
I remember the first time I saw the Style Network before its demise. I was obsessed with the number of quality fun fashion shows they aired. I watched shows like, How Do I Look and The Look For Less every week. At one point, I didn’t watch any other channels. I always said that I would love to host or have my own fashion and style show. Last year, after the the pop up shop, that thought came back to me and I said, why do I have to wait to be chosen to be on shows like that? I can just create my own fashion and style show. I’m talented, knowledgeable, and a self-proclaimed shopaholic. Issa Rae creator of Awkward Black Girl did her own show on Youtube, so, I can do my own too.
After months of toying with the idea and being afraid to try due to fear of what people may think or say, I finally got the courage to create my own style show, well, style web series. I am happy today to present to you, “Refine My Style” a fashion and style web series for plus size women. We will be doing mini makeovers, showing you how to wear the latest trends, and we will also have special guest stylists sharing their style tips.
The first episode or is it webisode?, will premiere on Monday June 22, 2015 at 12pm EST. It features Nyree, a busy mom of 3 who is looking to upgrade her style. She wanted a few looks that would take her from work to weekend.
The series will be on the Stylish Curves Youtube channel.
