Hey curvy girls all over the world,
We at SC are big fans of denim skirts. We’ve been buying them ever since the 90’s. We love a good denim mini and often we pull out our denim pencil skirt for casual days at the office. This season we couldn’t help but notice the popularity of button front denim skirts. We immediately fell in love with the Stella McCartney button front denim skirt that the always chic Claudia Schiffer rocked while strolling around town. Everything about that skirt screamed 70’s chic. We thought it would be the perfect piece for a curvy girl to add to her summer wardrobe.
We like the various lengths and cuts of the button front skirt. Personally we are fans of the knee length version, but, the fitted minis are extra saucy. Just check out the white button front mini from Old Navy above (#2). Not a fan of the close fit, then try a slight a-line cut like the one above from Dorothy Perkins (#1). We like this trend paired with a crisp button up or a tank, wedges or gladiator sandals.
Need a visual on how to style this trend, then check out SC’s outfit idea. It’s bohemian chic.

Will you be trying a button front denim skirt?

These skirts take me back to childhood. I remember having one back then. Too cute!

I always liked these skirts but have been scared to wear one because I’m scared it won’t fit right because my waist is so much smaller than my hips which is why I’ve never bought a shirtdress because it usually ends up not being able to button all the way down or it bulges, you know? However, I suppose I could buy a bigger size and get it tailored huh? Lol…

I can’t seem to get away with it. It’s the triangle shape, I think.
I had one once that was an extremely soft fabric, so it was more flowy, and that worked. But the ones in style right now don’t work as well.
So it may depend on your body type.
