Hey curvy girls all over the world,
So, back in October, I shared with all of you that I was chosen to be a face of Family Dollar Fabulous Beauty event. I was so honored to be chosen. The Family Dollar Fabulous event was all about influential bloggers and vloggers connecting with beauty and hair care brands that Family Dollar carries. The two day event allowed us to get to know the Family Dollar brand and what they stand for as well as understand the improtance of having quality beauty and hair care products be affordable. I think sometimes we can be so caught up in high end hair and beauty products and forget about the brands that have been making quality products at an affordable price.
I had such an amazing time during the two day event. I got to connect with new bloggers and most importantly, I got a chance to talk to some of the largest well respected beauty brands in the industry today.
Below is a breakdown of the two day event.
Family Dollar had all the bloggers/vloggers arrive at the Midtown Hilton hotel where a welcome sign greeted us all.
They took us on a party bus ride to Brooklyn to checkout the Family Dollar store in East New York. I didn’t know there were any Family Dollar stores in NYC, so this was a surprise. On the bus, they had little snack giftbags waiting for us.
When we arrived at the Family Dollar store, we were greeted by Family Dollar ambassador Vanessa Williams (known from Soul Food tv show) she gave all the bloggers complimentary giftcards from Family Dollar. She was so fun and cool.
Ya’ll know I had to get a pic with her and ya’ll know I spent that giftcard up. LOL!
After visitng the Family Dollar Store we all went back to the hotel for some dinner. I hung out with my new blogger boo Naja from NajaDiamond.com
This is what I wore. An Old Navy leopard print dress and a cropped leather jacket.
The next day, we had to be at the hotel at 8 am for a welcome breakfast.
After our belly’s were full, we spent one on one time with hair and beauty brands talking about new products. My first stop was the ORS booth where they were talking about their new olive oil products .
After my chat with ORS, I hopped on over to the L.A. Colors booth to checkout some of their spring 2015 beauty products and to get my makeup refreshed. L.A. Colors offers a ton of budget friendly products from volumizing mascara to pigmented eyeshadows, and I can personally attest to how freaking awesome their lashes are.
Makeup artist Cynde Watson did a few touch ups on my face.
Of course I had to smile for the camera.
By midday, I got to chat with Soft Sheen Carson brand, Optimum. I also got to meet Johnny Wright who is Michelle Obama’s hair stylist. We were discussing relaxers and they were letting me know that their new ALMA relaxers is one of the best no lye relaxers and it is much healthier for your hair.
After that, I stopped by the Motions booth to meet celeb hair stylist Ursula Stephens who is know for chopping off Rihanna’s hair. Checkout my intervie with her on my Youtube channel HERE. We dished about Brooklyn and our fave Motions product which is the setting lotion.
Towards the end of the event, Family Dollar had a mini fashion show. They showcased their spring fashion line and I thought this jumpsuit was super cute.
The event was amazing and I was beat but I had to take a pic with all my new blogger boo’s.
