WORK-WEAR WEDNESDAY: THE PLUS SIZE PENCIL DRESS

It’s Work-wear Wednesday! Today we make getting dressed for you 9-5, 11-7, or 6-2, a little easier. Today, we are talking about pencil dresses. The mother to the pencil skirt and the cousin to the sheath dress. Pencil dresses are a great option for those days when you need to look put together in a hurry.

I am personally a fan of the pencil dress because it streamlines plus size figure and creates a waist for those of us (like me) with a gut. The pencil dress is so sleek and chic that it can be paired with platform pumps or even a pair of pointed toe heels. There is an array of options for plus size women these days. You can go for a printed version, peplum, or even a colorblock style.

Since pencil dresses skim your curves I recommend making sure the fit is not too tight. You don’t want to bring any unnecessary negative or unprofessional attention to yourself. If you have to size up by all means do so.
