Chromat has quickly become one of the hottest fashion week shows to attend. Especially, since they’ve increased the amount of diverse models they feature on their runway. Chromat spring/summer 2019 collection featured models of all sizes, shapes, and races. Something that is becoming more prevalent at New York Fashion Week. There were plus size models, models with hijabs, and with disabilities. Many people stood on a long line outside of Chromat’s runway show just to witness something epic. People were excited to see what the brand was going to do. Inside the show, the space was packed. Rows upon rows of some of fashions most notable editors, celebrities, and bloggers.
As soon as the show started and the first model walked out, the audience began to cheer. Models came out looking soak and wet, while giving a day at the beach vibes. Plus size model Emme hit the runway strutting her voluptuous curves in a 3/4 sleeve marble printed one piece swimsuit. It looked as if she was ready to grab her surfboard and ride the waves. When Model and amputee Mama Cax walked the runway the crowed cheered. Mama Cax commanded the runway and everyone loved her energy and fierceness.

Chromat has a knack for making swimwear not only sexy but edgy and statement making. Models wore t-shirts that said sample size as a play on what truly is a sample size. Chromat really wanted to take body positivity to the next the next level. Chromat’s collection featured oversized t-shirts with a few fun details. It was done with a purpose. In an interview with Vogue.com Becca Mcharen-Tran’s said, “I wanted to reimagine the whole idea of throwing a ginormous shirt over your swimsuit at the pool because you’re too embarrassed to be seen.” “To take that moment of vulnerability and make it something to be proud of.”
