When it comes to outerwear, one of your closet staples should be a camel colored coat. A camel coat is timeless and easy to style. Its also the kind of coat that’s ageless. I’ve seen teenagers style them with sneakers and mature women wear them to work and on the weekends. Although the camel coat is simple its truly the perfect piece to complete a look. As a plus size woman, I have found it hard to find plus size camel coats. Especially modern stylish ones.
Most plus size camel coats look frumpy and outdated. However, this year I spied quite a few stylish ones. What I love about plus size camel coats is that they can be worn in winter and in spring. When you think about camel colored coats, most people think about winter wool styles. I think if its within your budget you should have two. One for fall/winter and then an additional one for the spring season.
Why You Need A Camel Colored Coat
You need a camel coat in your wardrobe if you are looking for outerwear that goes with everything in your wardrobe. Black is not the only neutral color that goes with everything. Having a camel coat in your wardrobe will help you pull together and bring balance to printed ensembles. The most important reason you need a camel coat in your wardrobe is because you will wear it forever. It’s timeless.
Personally, I have two spring plus size camel coats but didn’t have a winter one. Thanks to Baacal by Cynthia Vincent, I got the perfect wool plus size camel coat. The fit is modern and it goes with just about everything in my closet. I wore it last month.
For a daytime look, I paired it with a striped red and white top, light washed distressed skinny jeans, and a pair of red suede pumps. I even went for a faux suede camel colored purse which had a gold chain strap. This look for me was perfect. It’s the kind of look that you can run errands in, go to lunch in, or even go shopping in. This outfit would work whether I was wearing flats or sneakers.
What I really love about this Baacal coat is that its not too heavy. I can rock it without a scarf and still be warm or I can rock it with a scarf, hat, and gloves when the temps drop.
So hopefully I’ve sold you on why you need a camel coat in your wardrobe because I have a few options for you below. I’ve rounded up a few plus size camel coats that you can wear now and in spring.
