A Weekend Getaway To The Harbor, Plus A $500 Giveaway

I’ve been working so hard lately that I decided to take a break this month. It’s actually the perfect time because my son is out of school. We just shipped him off down south for the summer. So, this meant that the next couple of weeks I would be free. I’ve been working very hard lately and felt a break was needed. Back in May I went to Arizona. Since then, I’ve been home working with no breaks.  Although I did go away in May, I felt as if I needed another getaway. A summer getaway. This time, a short one. I decided to take a road trip to Maryland.

You guys know that I have family in Maryland and consider it my second home. Normally I just go to my family’s house and hangout. However, I wanted this trip to be more fun. I wanted to feel like a tourist on my summer getaway. So, I decided to pack up my suitcase and book a ticket on Amtrak and head to Maryland. There’s nothing like a weekend getaway to rejuvenate your spirit.

Elliptical DressWhenever I travel, typically, I have on a pair of heels and leggings or a dress. This time, I wanted to be cute and casual. I arrived in Maryland wearing an elliptical t-shirt dress and lace up sandals from J.Jill. The dress was super comfy. I loved the relaxed look because I could easily move around in it.

SandalsThe next day, I headed to Baltimore to checkout some of the scenery. I visited the famous Montebello Lake to watch the sunset. It was so beautiful and serene there. I slipped on a pair of slim ankle white jeans from J.Jill and tencel sleeveless indigo shirt. For a little added flair, I rolled the jeans up.

On Saturday, I headed down to the Baltimore Inner Harbor. I rocked a tencel indigo shirtdress, which is so cute.

I also stopped by Baltimore’s famous Rita’s for one of their cherry Italian ices.Then on Sunday, I went full tourist mode and strolled downtown Baltimore. For this day, I wore the white jeans again. This time, I rocked the jeans with an ikat diamond print blouse from J.Jill.

I also went back over to the harbor to checkout the boats. 

The weather was pretty good. It was hot but not humid. I was having such a great day.

I stayed at the harbor until the sunset. Oh and what beautiful sunset it was. Sometimes you need to just get away. Even if its by yourself. Your spirit needs to be rejuvenated. Now that I am heading back home, I feel refreshed and ready to continue the work I’ve been doing.  This summer getaway was truly needed.
