Not Your Basic White Button Down Shirt

Hey curvy girls all over the world,

I’ve always believed that every woman should have classic pieces like a white button down shirt in their wardrobe. However, basics don’t have to be boring. You can find classic styles that have a twist or a little flair. Case in point, I found an updated version of a classic white button down shirt. While checking out the plus size section on JCPenney, I saw that Worthington had a cool looking cold shoulder white button down plus size shirt with exaggerated bell sleeves. This classic white shirt is perfect for spring and summer.

Tops like this look great with jeans, so I slipped on a pair of distressed skinny ankle length jeans that I got from the Jennifer Lopez collection at Kohls.

For shoes, I went with one of my all time fave pairs from Betsey Johnson. The polka dots platform sandals makes the outfit pop. Now, ya’ll know I always need a little color. So, reached for my Marc by Marc Jacobs structured tote in purple to add a little color. The button up collar is a style that I like, especially with a statement necklace. A multi colored statement necklace is what I added to the collar, also a pair of gold hoop earrings. I also added a jewel encrusted gold cuff.

I love the dramatic sleeves on the classic white shirt and the fit. I sized up but probably could have gotten my true size, however, I did like the looser fit.
