Hey curvy girls all over the world,
This morning while going through my daily fashion news reads, I nearly spit out my tall skim caramel latte when I spotted Tess Holiday on the cover of People magazine. Yup! I squealed, screeched, and cheesed so hard. People magazine gave her the cover in all of her size 22 glory and I couldn’t be more happy and proud to be part of the body acceptance movement. Tess has been on the forefront of the movement for years.
This is a huge, huge, huge (no pun intended) deal and game changing feature. People is known for all their weightloss stories but to have a plus size model of Tess’s size and 5’5″ height on the cover speaks volumes. In the issue Tess talks about being bullied and shares her most notable message that “You can be beautiful at any size.” Tess also shares how much her life has changed since she got her major modeling contract with Milk Management. She says, she’s been traveling non stop and her phone is ringing off the hook.
The most inspiring thing about Tess’s story, is that she never gave up on her modeling dreams. Although it has been many years later since she began her career, she is definitely reaping the benefits of her hard work, faith, and determination.
What do you think about Tess’s cover shot and feature?
