When it comes to fall and winter trends of 2020, the shacket has turned out to be a surprise hit. So, what is a shacket? Welp, for a simple definition, a shacket is an oversized shirt like jacket. It looks like a heavy oversized button down shirt.
Styling A Plus Size Shacket
I think the shacket is a good alternative to your basic plus size jackets. Everytime I see someone wear a shacket, it just looks so cool. I was hoping plus size retailers would jump on this trend but not many did.
One retailer that hopped on the shacket trend before any other brands was H&M. Between September and October they produced some of the coolest shackets in a variety of prints. Everybody wanted one.
The H&M shackets were such a hit, many of them sold out on the site and in store. Luckily, I was able to get one last month and it is one of my fave purchases for fall. This plus size shacket from H&M is just what my wardrobe needed.
As a plus size woman, wearing oversized or boxy styles can be off putting. However, the more I became confident with my body, the less I stopped caring if something makes me look bigger. Honestly, I just want the overall look to be cute and stylish.
Back in the day I would’ve shied away from an oversized plus size jacket like this. All I needed to do was style it in a way that was flattering to me.
I wanted the black and white tweed printed plus size shacket to pop. So, I opted for an all black base underneath. A pair of faux leather leggings and a black turtleneck was the perfect combination.
For some color I went with a classic white and red. These white over the knee boots from Eloquii gave this look a retro vibe. However, the red Gucci Soho bag added a modern flair to the look. In addition, a pair of white tassel earrings also added color near my face.
Although there were not a lot of plus size brands that jumped on this trend. There were a few. You can probably guess which ones did. Well, instead of guessing, how about I list some of the cute plus size shackets I found.
