The Military Chic Plus Size Maxi Dress

Hey curvy girls all over the world,

If you’ve been following me since 2009, then you know I am not really a maxi dress fan. That’s not to say I’ve never worn one, but they aren’t a style that I gravitate towards. I prefer my skirt and dress lengths to be at the knee or slightly above the knee. I just started getting into the whole midi length but we will save that for another post. Whenever I do find a maxi dress of my liking, I get excited. Case in point (ya’ll know I always have a story, right?), last week, I was doing a little after work shopping at Lane Bryant. Lately, there styles have been pretty good (see HERE) so I thought I would checkout some of the new items they had. After browsing around, I came across this military green plus size maxi dress. I picked it up off the rack and thought to myself, this is so cute but why does it have to be a maxi. I figured I would just try it on. Um, I am so glad I did because I thought it looked so cute.

What really made me like this maxi dress was the detailing. The gold buttons and side splits gave the maxi a modern feel. Military green has been a popular trend for spring and we are definitely going to see it a lot during fall. The gold and green combination just made the maxi look chic and ya’ll know I am all about looking sleek and chic.

The dress came with a gold skinny belt but because it was nice and flowy, I wanted a thicker belt so I went with a medium sized gold and black straw belt also from Lane Bryant.

I plan on wearing this a lot for the remainder of the summer.
