NYC right now feels very much like an icebox. For the past month we’ve been experiencing single digit temps. And let me not forget the massive snow storm that still fills the streets. Even though the storm happened a week ago. It’s times and temperatures like this when I crave spring weather. And spring fashion.
The other day I took a trip to my local Anthropologie store because I heard they had a full on plus-size section. And to my surprise the plus-size section was right in front of the store. With racks on racks of clothes in sizes 14-24.
So many stores who are size inclusive have been getting rid of their plus-size departments. So, it was nice to see that Anthropologie had some options. I perused the store to see what was new and what was on sale. While I was searching for new spring styles, I did find some winter pieces that were perfect to wear now.
After my walkthrough I grabbed quite a few pieces and headed to the fitting room.
ANTHROPOLOGIE PLUS SIZE TRY ON
I love a good plus-size fitting room try on. The first piece I tried on was this colorful wool blend plaid coat. It is beautiful. It’s a double breasted coat with a medley of pastel colors that screamed spring. A coat I could wear now and well into March and April.
Fit Notes: The coat has a slight oversized fit. I tried on a 2X but would’ve needed a 3X to be able to button up the coat.
Then, I spied a heart print plus size denim dress that was giving spring and Valentine’s day vibes. The buttons are a tiny heart shape. I can wear it now with boots and tights. And then with a cute pair of sandals or sneakers when the temps warm up.
Fit Notes: This is a shift style dress with no stretch. I carry weight in my midsection and the 3X fit perfectly.
Another Anthropologie plus-size dress I found was this stretch knit grommet maxi dress. It hugs the curves and offers a little stretch. I could wear it now with boots and a faux fur or later with strappy sandals and denim jacket.
Fit Notes: This dress has a generous amount of stretch. I’m wearing a size 2X and had room to spare.
