BOLD PROPORTIONS

From balloon and barrel leg pants to cocoon sleeves, an oversized silhouette has entered the chat this fall season. We are seeing a lot of puff sleeves, baggy pants, and voluminous skirts.Plus-size people are often told to steer clear of anything that makes them look larger. However, this is a trend where you can create balance with the bold proportions. So, don’t be afraid to try it out.
You can incorporate atleast one piece into your wardrobe and pair it with something that’s more understated. For example, try a pair of balloon pants with a fitted top or blazer.
These are a few options in plus-sizes.
MODERN TAILORING

Modern tailoring is an upgrade from traditional rigid suiting. It’s about versatility. Mixing soft tailoring with more streamlined sculptural pieces. It’s also about going for fluid fabrics that make power dressing more versatile. There are a few plus-size brands that get this right. And this year Universal Standard is one of those brands. They’ve upgraded their suiting category for fall that embodies modern tailoring.
CHIC SATIN

It’s time to bring back those satin midi dresses and skirts this year. That’s even if you ever put them away. Satin is having a prominent moment for fall 2026. Although this fabric should be considered a wardrobe staple. We are seeing satin worn is a dressy casual way this season. Fashion girls are mixing satin skirts with graphic tees and cozy knit sweaters.
PEPLUM

Even though clothing brands oversaturated this trend in the mid 2000’s. Peplum is back. And in a dramatic way. You’ll notice that a lot of peplum pieces are more ruffled and exaggerated.
And some of your fave plus size brands have designed pieces that actually look cool and give more of a street style vibe.
COOL PLAID

Plaid is another one of those print trends that should be considered a closet staple. It’s actually a continuation from fall 2025, when country chic plaid was trending. For 2026, we are seeing plaid outfits giving a relaxed chill vibe. Think plaid bomber jackets, cropped plaid shirts, and halter neck plaid vests.
