Hey curvy girls all over the world,
In my eyes, April through September is wedding season. Every wedding I’ve ever gone to has been within those months. I actually like when they are because that means the weather is going to be nice. I can possibly find a cute spring or summer wedding guest dresses to wear. There are so many amazing websites like Bombshell HQ that are out there that you can browse for stunning dresses to wear this wedding season. Unless you’re a bridesmaid, I find that it can be a challenge trying to figure out what the heck to wear to a wedding. Especially when you might get photographed by a professional since the wedding could have an expert for wedding photography Cleveland or in some other location. I mean, no one wants to miss a chance to look beautiful in photographs, after all.
First, you have to make sure you’re not breaking two cardinal rules.
Davids Bridal Short Tank Lace Dress
Tip #1
One, don’t wear white. Ever. There’s no excuse, not even cream or off-white are acceptable. Two, don’t upstage the bride. That means no flashy jewellery, super-high heels or plunging necklines. One good tip is to stop and remove one piece of jewellery before leaving the house. And you should never wear a ring that is bigger or better than the bride’s engagement ring. So, if you want to wear a ring that looks like this 2 carat oval engagement ring, take it off and save it for another day. If you break either one of those rules, you can kiss that friendship goodbye. As we are smack dead in the middle of wedding season, what does one wear as a wedding guest?
Tip #2
It’s important to follow whatever dress code the invitation lists. If it doesn’t list one, then I always say go with a cocktail dress. You can never go wrong with cocktail attire at a wedding. We think of wedding pictures when we talk about wedding dresses. You are not just wearing a dress to look good on the special day, but to astonish whenever you see the wedding pictures. So, cocktail dresses can be a perfect choice. Furthermore, if you’re privileged enough to have your picture taken by an experienced wedding photographer (who would have most likely been hired from a New Orleans wedding photography company), you’ll never have to think about hiding your wedding photos. That said, recently, I found a chic little lace cocktail dress at David’s Bridal, and it made for the perfect wedding guest dress.
What I loved most about the short tank lace cocktail dress was the bold bright pink color. The deep plunging neckline. It made me feel sexy and sophisticated. I’ll be the first to tell you that when I think of David’s Bridal, I always think of wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses. I never thought to shop there for wedding guest dresses or even dresses for events.
When I went on their website, I found that they have tons of dresses that would work for basically any fancy smancy event you have ranging from black tie to a ladies who lunch event. David’s Bridal offers a variety of styles and silhouettes to suit every size and budget. They offer stylish pieces for plus sizes up to a size 30 and they’ve done quite a few collaborations with major designers like Zac Posen and Cynthia Rowley.
I accessorized the lace dress with a silver necklace and silver stud earrings. I added silver ankle strap sandals, and a heart shaped clutch. I kept my makeup simple with a pink lip. They have tons of fabulous wedding guest dresses for any event that you need to look jazzed up for.
