Back in my corporate days it was challenging to find sexy work clothes that were appropriate for both the office and after work. As a young professional woman, I wanted work clothes that were youthful yet chic and polished. I always went for the sexy secretary look. A fitted pencil skirt and blouse or a sheath dress that skimmed over my curves. This year the sexy suiting trend is here and it offers everything I wanted and needed from work clothes.
The sexy suiting trend features cutouts on blazers, and shorter hem lines on skirts and dresses. You’ll also notice that necklines are cut lower. What’s cool about the trend is that although its sexy work clothes, its still appropriate for the office.
Sexy Work Clothes
Now, that I am no longer working in the corporate world, I’ve found some good uses for sexy work clothes. As an entrepreneur sometimes I have business meetings and/or lunch events to attend. Those are the times where I can wear sexy suiting. Plus size brands have caught on to the trend and produced some sassy pieces. I found a chic plaid blazer dress that would be a great option to take me from desk to dinner.
Fashion to Figure has an amazing blazer dress that hits above the knee. It has faux leather trimming around the neckline and on the wrist. The neckline is cut slightly low but covers up your chest just enough. If I worked inside a office, I would put on a pair of sheer black stockings for a more modest look.
I love the fit of this blazer dress. It has stretch so it hugs my curves. I styled it with a pair of red sued pumps and grey tassel earrings. For another look, I would unbutton the dress and wear it as a jacket with jeans and tank top for a casual Friday look.
